Video

  • This is for a video creation.
  • Because of size limitations, you must first upload your video to either YouTube or Vimeo. You do not need to make the post public on YouTube or Vimeo. You just need to upload it there first to get a URL, so you can paste it in your post on Creatrix.
  • If you do not have a free YouTube (Google) or Vimeo account, you will need to create one. It's easy. We suggest using YouTube. Check out this video to help get set up.
  • Once you have an account, login to YouTube and simply click on the upload arrow icon in the top right menu. Click in the center screen to “Select Your File.” Choose the file. You can also drag/drop your file into the YouTube upload box.
  • While the clip is uploading to YouTube, give it a Title and Description for your YouTube account. If you don't want the video to be found by the general public on YouTube, change the privacy setting from “Public” to “Unlisted.” When upload and processing are complete, click on the “Done” button in the upper-right corner.
  • Copy the link they give you.
  • Return to the Creatrix video template, and add your title.
  • Paste the saved link into the YouTube block. Click Embed Video.
  • If you are using a Vimeo account instead of YouTube, just upload the video to Vimeo and copy and paste the URL into your post.
  • You do not need to delete the other embed video box you're not using.
  • Below the image, you will see a text box where you can write more info (description, your process, whatever) if you'd like. Click on the box and replace the text with your own, or simply delete the text if you don't want to add any info.
  • Leave the “Read More Separator” in place.
  • Click on the word “Post” on the right-hand panel that has a pencil icon next to it (next to “Blocks”).
  • Choose a Post Visibility from the dropdown menu (“Viewable by all users” if you want this post to be seen by anyone who visits the site, or “Registered members only” if just by the other Creatrices).
  • Scroll down to Category and make sure “Video” is checked AND uncheck the “Writing” category (this is the default category and cannot be unchecked until something else is checked). You may want to leave “Writing” checked in addition to “Video” and potential other categories depending on what's in your video creation.
  • Preview your post by clicking on “Preview Post.” This will open up a new tab in your browser where you can review your work.
  • If you are satisfied, you can click “Publish Post” in this new preview tab. If you would like to make changes to your post, just close this tab and continue editing in your original draft. Publish when ready.
